Aquarium Studios continue to work through the current difficulties and are offering several solutions for both ADR and Mix-Reviews for feature and Broadcast Mixes.
To ensure responsible social distancing, our main building in Wardour Street remains closed to clients, but our 58, Old Compton Street Studio has been completely modified to allow ADR and Mix Reviews complying to all current social distancing guidelines.
Social Distancing Compliant ADR
We realise how important Covid-safety is for both producers and talent. We are fortunate that our Old Compton Street Studio provides two separate areas. One for the operator and one for the talent.
On entering the studio there is a hand washing and sanitising station, which talent can use before entering the recording area in which there is a second sanitising station including disposable gloves.
The actor will now be in communication with the operator through the glass via talkback. Headphones are sanitised after every use, and disposable gloves can be worn to attach and position Microphones as per the operator’s instruction - Operator and Talent are never in the same room.
As there is no physical contact within our studio, we ask that talent arrives with their own printed script, as well as their own pen, pencil and water and so on. A check list is sent to each actor before they arrive.
From within the control room we can link to the director or dialogue editor via either Source Connect or Source Live so that they have a live feed of the session and full communication with both talent and operator, so that they can judge both performance and timing.
Social Distancing Compliant Mix Reviews
By following the same responsible rules as above we are also able to offer Mix reviews for projects up to and including 7.4.1 Atmos with zero physical contact. The Director is able to sit in the main studio in the mix position, while the operator sits apart in the booth at the rear of the studio controlling the session.
While we understand that this is not a mixing solution, we offer this for projects that may have been mixed in a home studio and simply need to be checked and tweaked in a properly lined up room. We are also able to offer this facility as a dry hire option to help our freelance friends who may be having to work from home so they may then check their work in a safe and completely contained environment. Full access to the room is possible through a series of codes.
